91 speedometer

I have a 1991 silverado 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive. I am fixing it up for my son and I need to get the odometer fixed but we do not have any local speedometer shops anymore and I contacted Chevrolet and they told me they could not get the parts. I also contacted LMC truck and they said they did not have. I need some suggestions. I am skeptical of salvage yard. I am afraid I may get into the same situation I am in now. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
