drilled hole brakes

is there a much differnce of changin ur two disk brakes with drilled holes ones? i was thinkin of doing this but i dont know yet.

theres is probably a difference in brake fade....it will also keep them cooler.

The purpose of crissdrilled rotors is to keep air circulating in hard braking circumstances. This prevents your rotors from warping.

they may serve a purpose of "circulating air" yadda yadda but there is another more important reason for this. During hard braking your brake pads create a gas that builds up between the rotor and pad. The crossdrilled and also the slotted rotors give this gas a place to release giving better bite to the rotors from the pad. They do cool better than stock rotors because they will inherently catch more air while reciprocating (I basically said that to sound like a smartass hehe). On a side note, they look mighty bitchin' behind a set of custom wheels!

BTW, I've heard that drilled rotors are more prone to cracking (unless the holes are cast in at the time of manufacture), so slotted rotors get my vote.

The gas thing is b.s., modern pads don't release any gasses, maybe if you have pads from 1960 you will, but not in 2003.

But seriously, who is going to be braking so damn much, to heat up their rotors, in normal, everyday driving, and the occasional street race?

Get a set of brembo blanks, and save yourself the money.

You wouldn't do enough high performance stuff to merit slotted or drilled rotors. I would recommend Brembo blanks as well. If you really want to improve your braking I would get better quality pads, braided steel brake lines and some DOT4 fluid.

Of course Tire Rack is going to tell you to get drill rotors when they cost like 4x as much as a normal blank rotor. They gotta make that $$$$$!

On my civic I have TAROX G88
And those rotors are the best ever!
And they don't have any holes drilled cause the rotors with holes can breake under heavy breaking :(
