Lifter adjustment

I was tearing the 2.2 in my '97 Cav apart this weekend and noticed that it has indepentent rocker arms with ball washers like my small block Chevy. The motor had several lifters that were ticking before being torn down. Can the lifters in the 2.2 be adjusted like the small block motors - loosen until it clacks, tighten until the clacking stops, then an additional half turn?
