05 Silverado 1500 Fog Lights button

I have a 05 Sivler 1500 4x4 v8 (bought 2 weeks ago). There is a button for fog lights on my dash area for the fogs lights. Well my truck does not have fog lights installed or ever have before. When the button is pressed the instrument panel has a green light saying the fog lights are on.

My question: If I install new fog lights, is there all ready wiring for the lights? Where would they be? I looked under the front bumper and did not see any loose wiring. Will they be behind the instrument panel ready to be connected? Anybody know?

Thanks

A few years ago I added fog lights to my truck which didn't come with the option from the factory. I bought a kit off of ebay that included everything need: Fog lamps, wiring harness, and cargolamp/foglight switch.
As far as I know the switch is prewired to the Body computer which sends the signal to turn the fog lights on or off when you press the button. Before I bought the kit I did some research and 9 times out of 10 when people added the fog lights and switch they worked right away. But some had to go to the dealer and have this option turned on, on their trucks bcm so it knew to activate the lights when the button was pressed. However I was one of the lucky ones who had them work as soon as they were installed.

As far as the install goes it's pretty easy. You can either purchase a new valance with the lights cut out or mod the valance you already have to accept the fog lights. I just decided to use a dremel to clear out the cut outs and was pretty happy with the out come (cheaper option as well). The brackets that hold the lamps are already present on your truck so all you have to do is bolt them up and plug the harness into the underhood fuse box and add a relay. (all included with the kit). I don't have the link for the ones I bought off ebay but Im sure if you search it you can find them. Pretty sure it was under 200bucks for everything. Hope this helps.

Danny, thanks for the info. I did buy some light from an autostore. It came with its own switch and wiring. I already installed the light on the truck. I just wanted to use the button the truck has all ready installed. I wonder if I can tap into the wiring they have coming out of the switch?
