1990 300se wont start cold

I have a 90 300se w126 3.0l that wont start cold. You can pour a little gas in the intake and after it fires it runs fine at idle and in gear. I've changed the fuel filter - fuel pump check valve- and the pump runs and has pressure. Any thoughts?:frown:
