just had a look at classicdriver.com dreaming of what car i cant afford :), and this was up on there

http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find/4100_results.asp?bsubmit=true&lmanufacturer=10084&lCarID=1803265

2.7 mil is a bit on the steep side isnt it ?

also does anyone know if cars international still have the long tail F1 ?

The car referenced in AutoSalon's ad on ClassicDriver has already sold. It was a 1994 model, not a 1995.

Seems CIA no longer have their hands on 27R, but that is a bit of speculation as it has not really turned up in a new location yet.

#27R was at Lanzante's - part of it was in the background of a series of pics on a rather special Exige -

but hasn't been spotted since

whats the realistic going rate for a F1 these days

Value is totally dependant on how badly someone want it and the ability to afford it. For a none descript silver F1 I would think it expensive but if you particularly wanted a silver one then maybe not.

That will always be dependant on many factors. There was one F1 road car that sold for over $4M USD, but it was a nearly new example with a pretty unique history. The sale occurred at an auction, and prices have been known to get somewhat out of hand for desirable cars at auction when more than one party is eager to be its next owner.

I'd say the $2.7M asking price for the black car was slightly optimistic given the amount of miles on the odometer and the fact that many potential purchasers of these cars generally want the newest and least used version they can find for some reason. I personally think a car with a decent number of miles is sometimes the better, and the car in question was also fresh from a lot of work at the factory and is in impeccable shape.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any F1s available for under $2M USD these days and I have been told of at least two F1 road cars with current asking prices that are over the $3M mark. In each case they too may be a tad optimistic, but you have to start somewhere and if someone really wants the car bad enough they just might pay your price.

My experience ofclassic car ownership would always tell me to ster clear of a car with few miles on it as cars seem to benefit from regular use rather than prolonged storage, I am sure Mr bridger would confirm this as being the case.

We've covered it before. The ad was for chassis #063, but is quite old now. First time the link was provided here was by jkbon in the F1 VIN thread.

It's kind of like that original ad for GTR #16R on Readytofix.com that would never die even though the car had changed hands a couple of times.

i thought it might have been a old ad as they only wanted 1.6 mil for it, cheap for a f1 by todays standards

1,6 mil for which car?

Peloton25

The ad is over 3 years old - I wouldn't count on finding that same deal today.

The real black car for sale is in Singen, but the price is almost 3 mil EUR (inkl TAX).
Swiss car is not with the seller - he's an agent, the car is somewhere far in Asia

The car is different actually - the one pictured in this ad (http://www.turbo-car-trade.com/viewCars_1452.aspx) is chassis #063 which SPS have sold quite a long time ago. Those photos in the ad are from September 2007. The one that SPS still has in Hong Kong is #064. They have an Anamera ad for it, but again the photos show chasssis #063:

http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/12099/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63

Turbo-Car-Trade have a second ad for a 1998 F1 they show as Sold. This car in the photos is again #063, but the photos show it in BingoSports showroom in Tokyo back in November 2005. Not sure where they get the 1998 model year from.

The black car that several sources (including AutoSalonSingen) is/was offering was chassis #007 - a 1994 model, not 1995 as Singen have it listed - and it has already found a new and permanent home as of about two months ago.

Thanks Peloton25! TCT is selling #63 now. What is the trick? Somebody bite, but cannot swallow? First expensive McLaren's maitenance is due?

Peloton25

Hard to say really. Some of these cars do not stay in one place for very long. While a lot of us here tend to think that if we ever had the opportunity to purchase an F1 we would never let it go, that doesn't seem to hold true in all cases with people who have achieved the dream. Maintenace costs can be one factor - wanting the next new thing is always another possibility.

Any idea where #063 actually is at the moment? It was in Japan since new as I understand, then went to Hong Kong for a while. Then it was reportedly sold back to Japan, but has kind of fallen off the map after leaving Hong Kong.

All I know is that the car is in Asia at the moment. The place will be specified in case of signed sales agreement. Todays selling price is 2,3 mil EUR. But how to decide without the car itself. Even the pictures are showing #63, the TAG watch should be on the strap (not bracelet). That's the small thing. But how does the car look today (mechanically, electrically etc)? The deal looks very virtual. It's not a problem to go to Swiss, but what will you see there?
It's strange, but Singen is still advertizing their car and there's a salesman in charge.
There's no logic in those cars deals. Some buy to invest - it really has good interest rate on the market. Some buy to use, to enjoy. Dream is always far better than reality, believe me. Buy then sell, and if you still want one - it was your dream. F1 is for the ones who like to drive, and who have the right skills for that. The destination doesn't matter.

Hello,

always interesting debate on F1s prices. When I told to a french collector who likes the F1 about #007, he answers he heard a transaction about 1.5M€.

1) So, do you think it's possible and if yes, do you know which one and possible chassis to sell at this price ?
2) I am looking for #007 final price (you can PM me if you know)
