Having Trouble Installing Transmission Drain Pan (1997 GMC Jimmy)

Ok ... I'm replacing the rear oil main seal in my Jimmy using the Haynes manual and one of the steps is to remove the transmission. One of the steps in removing the transmission is to drain the tranny fluide and reinstall the transmission drain pan. Well, I had trouble removing the pan due to the exhaust pipes and cross-members being way to close to the pan. Finally, after much frustration and stress, I removed but now I'm having trouble installing it back. I tried to angle the pan every single way but the FREAKIN exhaust pipes and cross-members are just in the way. Does anyone have any videos or any suggestions on how to install it back. BTW, I'm not a mechanic so use everyday vocabulary and GMC jargon. LOL

The key word is "CAREFULLY!!!!!!" because of the shift solenoids that you will hit if you are not careful. THe best advice I can give would be to break down and remove the crossmember as that is the worst part in the way. It can be done with everything in place, but again you gotta be very mindful of those shift solenoids.

Hey, Thanks for the help! After removing the cross member, the pan was a cake to install. Thanks again!
