01 clutch pedal will not press down

My friend just put a clutch in this car and now the pedal will not press down. It's stuck solid. He replaced it for slipping. Didn't know he had dis-engage the clutch lever before the bell housing would come back. Did he do something by prying to cause this pedal issue?
