How to remove a clutch fan?

Anyone know a way around having to purchase the specialty tools (wrench set) to remove the clutch fan???

ford fan clutch removal wrenches @ your local parts shop.There is two wrenches one to hold the pulley and one to remove the fan. Remember they have left hand threads.

As stated you can borrow one from the parts store. Your manual wont describe to well how to get it off. Once you have the belt off, you will need to remove the pully on the clutch. 4 bolts. Then slide that puly back towards you and put the bolts back in. You will use the tool on these bolts to keep the shaft in place. In my experiance the other wrench dosnt fit over the large nut on the shaft. I just use a large cresent wrench on it. It's a tight squeeze but it works. Remember your going to go counter-clockwise on this clutch fan. Once you get it broke free its easy street from there. Just re-assemble in reverse. Dont lose the 4 bolts for the puly!!!

i would remove shrowed and radiator also if you wasn't going to try it a quick way because you can end up paying allot more than just a fan. just a thot you should know if you wasn't going to remove these?
