I received only 6 entries. 6!!! And let me tell you, some of them are really great!
Remember all the interest and eithusiasm of everyone when the idea first appeared? What happened to all of that? I've seen some fabulous ITRs finished here recently, including one posted today!
So do you all still want that competiton? Any point in trying to arrange one again? Like in a couple of months? Because ... I don't nkow what happened, suddenly everyone (including me :o) ran out of time. post your thoughts on the subject here, and let me thank the guys who did enter, and I apologise to you. But maybe all is not lost yet ;)

I'm still really up for it and had been really looking forward to this, i just didn't have the time to get it done for the deadline. I've done some very special things to it too:D
There are obviously 2 options, extend the deadline another 2-4weeks or go with what you have.

6 people doesnt seem like a very big contest...and even though some people frown on moving deadlines, this time it might be a good. 2 weeks sounds like a good extension, but if people really need the extension, dont blow it off and ask for another one...id realy like to see all the different ITR's here on this site..

What rizes are up for grabs? If the deadline is extended and it gets peoples arse's in gear then i'll submit a prize too;)

The prizes included Revell Civic hb from Antonio and Heller NSR500 from me.

In that case, if everyone agrees on a further extension to the deadline date then i'll throw in my Civic Hatch transkit to the pile along with another for the runner up.

i too think the matter was people coiuldnt get their car done in time for the deadline, i know thats what appened to me too, i even tried working on a partially built kit just tto get something done by the deadline but couldnt finish it, maybe people just thought they would have enough time and when they stated on their ITR's they noticed that they didnt have time, i say an extensin of 2-4 weeks like chris said would settle this all:)

So how does 6 weeks sound in that case? :D Just to be on the safe side...

I really want to enter but I have not had time to finish my ITR, it is soo close but I have been to busy with all the moving I just finished with. Launch another contest in a few weeks or so and I would love to enter!! My gunmetal ITR needs a little touch up and my Spoon inspired ITR is still waiting on a GOOD final coat of paint and a few other details before it is ready.

This is what happens when you have too many contests ending in the same time period! We just finished the rally car model and now we have this one, the AF Teen contest, the AF 19+ contests, all being due within a few months or even weeks from each other.
As for me I know I said I was going to enter in the beginning but now I just don't think I'll be able to..

Yes, go w/6 weeks, that'll give me time to do mine. I never started it because I got started on another kit and didn't have the motivation. I'll do it now.

May be the case with some, but not all. For ecample, i didn't bother with the rally comp and i'm not eligable for the teen contest:D Also, plenty of people have already built ITR's that they can enter.

Count me in. I didn't enter because by the time the contest was all cleared up i only had a month to build an integra. Anyway, i'll try and enter this one if the due date isn't too early.

I'm not really keen on changing the rules and moving the date.
The date and the rules were set and people had plenty of time to get one done or post one of there ITR's that they had already built.
With the interest that was shown i'm very supprized at the low numbers.
But as you only have 6 entries you might as well open the deadline up again and hopefully get more people to enter and make it worth while.
My 2 cents worth.

i'm with pman on this one. rules are rules and credit should go to the folks that did complete their entires on time. i couldn't make the deadline so i'm not going to complain about extending it but changing the rules at the end just plain sucks for the six entries that did make it. they could probably have done more but killed the idea due to time constraints. now it may be too late to modify an already finished kit. i say go ahead with the six contestants. we have to uphold the integrity of AF sponsored contests don't we ;) .
ultimately, it is up to the sponsors of the contest but consideration should be made for those that did make it in time.

I dont know that I need a full six weeks, however I would like to see the deadline extended. I would definately like to enter one that I started on. I was very excited with the idea of this contest but I didn't have the time I thought I would have to complete the project. By the way My name is Joseph I'm 25 and I would'nt consider myself all that great of a modeller at this point. I have done some modelling in the past and recently I have been trying to get back into the hobby. I have read numerous articles that you guys have listed and I must say that I have learned a lot. There are some very skilled people on this site and I hope to leave a good impression as well. I am very happy to be here and I look forward to interacting on this site.:D

YA, I was planing on entering but got delayed on the ITR... I really think a good extension would work out for everyones benifit, and now we get even more prizes for the winners.
Anyone mind listing all of the prizes so far, i know there is:
SAS civic hatch transkit
XS tuning wheels
Civic hatch, Revel
but what else if anything??

I can give up a page about the contest and the winner, but I'm not sure if it can be in the "front" page, depending on the "end" of voting.
It's not much, but it is something.:):D

LOL!!! :)
I was thinking of extending the deadline to about the middle of June, but then remembered that the younger members have their own competition that ends at about that time ... so I was waiting for Antonio to show up online to discuss the options, which he didn't

After consultation with Antonio - the new date is set almost 7 weeks from now, and is 22nd of July 2003. The reason it's so late is that the teen competition deadline isn't too much earlier than that, so the "kids" :) need to be given some more time, I think.
And as for the original 6 entrants, they will receive 5 points headstart each for meeting the deadline and being supportive of the contest.

7 Weeks!!! I wasn't expecting that much! Are the 6 entrants all cool with this then?
I guess this gives us the chance to round up a few more contestants then. This thread has generated a little more interest itself, cmon everyone get to work!!!:D Remember, HLJ have two ITR's in their sale.

And 7 weeks sounds good to me, now I wont have to rush my ITR because I am the slowest modeler ever and am only about %50 done.
