Ok here's the deal i have been looking for a Subaru WRX STI but i havent been able to find one close enough and for the right price so I've switched to looking for a 05-06 GTO and i found one i realy like its a 2005 black 6-speed with 33,000 miles and it is very clean for $17,900 at a small car lot. I've looked on KBB and at a dealer it says $17,500 and private party $15,500 so what do you guys think?

Get it checked by an independent mechanic, of course. But imo the price is reasonable if the condition is as good as you say.
It is also a collectible car that will depreciate relatively slowly, so it's a better buy than many other cars.

Hmmm. Well, I've wondered this for a while and not sure if it's legitimate but because Pontiac doesn't exist anymore, are parts going to be hard to come by? I mean, I'm sure there will be some around with cars that share the architecture, but the GTO was limited-run to begin with, so if you plan on driving this a lot there could be some complications down the road. Considering the car was actually made in Australia, and has not been in production since 2006, I'd wait until you find a WRX or look for a V8 mustang.

OK me and my brother just took the GTO for a test drive today and I was blow away by the power and comfort and have fell in love with it even more.
I have called for insurance and to have full coverage for 6 months will be $424 and considering I'm 21 and its 05 GTO i think its pretty good.
as for parts they wont be hard to get new ones.
And as of right now the price is $17,500 but i haven't even started to negotiate yet.... will up date as i continue

I had an 04 GTO and I loved it. Make sure it is in good shape thought because they are an expensive car to work on. They are very fast and tons of fun to drive. It is easy to get yourself into trouble with one! Enjoy
