alternator removal ????

I'm trying to replace my alternator in my 85 neon, I have everything disconnected but I can't get the alternator out of the car there doesn't seem to be enough space. I have the car on ramps, I don't know what the problem is .
Any help would be great .

Did you remove the lower front engine mount? Much easier and accessible with that out of your way.

on mine removed it once and all i had to do was take the wheel off and it popped out... after that we discovered how it was adjusted.

try supporting the car by the body, not the lower control arm... we made that mistake at first too
