i did a search of this forum and couldnt find a post about oil filters that i saw a while back. the post contained a study on oil filters and which brands were the best to buyas well as which ones to avoid. anyone have any idea where i can find that list or the post here? thanks for any help.

I cut my filters open and examine the construction / debris captured ..this will quickly verify any claims or testing results by others...

the internet has many areas of testing and filtration ...

the finer the filteration the lower the abrasion that the engine will suffer ..

with the availability of the oil filters in my area the purolator PLUS or wix is a very good high quality filter ...

the filters of others may have good media/construction ,,,BUT when there assembled poorly this is when these bad filters like fram can suddenly damage your engine ...

amsoil web site has a good listing an other info of oil filtration ...

not that I am in any way saying to use amsoil products ....or not use them ...thats your call..
