03 kia Sedona, v6, 60000 miles. recently started to "hick-up" when sitting at idle, and taking off. seems to run OK the rest of the time. It has produced no codes or misfire notifications.
Thought I had bad gas, so ran a couple of tanks of gas with fuel treatment for bad/water in gas. no difference. Changed spark plugs. no difference.
Anyone else have this problem & solution?

Today the wife came home saying it was surging while stopped at stop signs.

you have a bad throttle position sensor, it's actually a common problem on these engines because the Sorentos will do the same thing.

At that mileage, it could be the timing belt jumped a tooth. It will run fine anytime your foot is on the gas but it idles like crap. Usually it will set misfire codes on a single bank. 60k is the recommended mileage for timing belt replacement also. If the thing breaks or jumps too many teeth, you are going to need a new engine :(

I finally got a code - misfire Cyl #4
I looked at the engine running in the dark, and found small amount of fire shooting out of ignition coil on cyl #4. Upon further inspection, I found discoloration & distortion (for lack of better word) of the plastic on the coil where the spark was jumping from.
Replaced that coil, and so far (about a week) it is running fine. Crossing my fingers that it stays that way. :-)
