(not-simon) cowl removal

anybody remove the air vent cowl in front of the windshield genII troopers?

factory service manual says remove the side retainers and three screws and remove it.

not.

someone has said use a putty knife to first remove the bottom windshield seal/trim.

can't.

anyone successfully done this?
