How I hurt my friend working on my car =)

Ok so, I had a bolt stuck in one of my sockets, like turned sideways in it, where it wont come out easy, so I was heating it up with a propane torch to make it pop out, and i left the torch propped on a table facing the socket and i left for like 5mins..

My room mate and fellow stunt man Jason is usually around the house, and I always grab him to help me with whatever. Well I went back and picked up the hot socket and lightly touched it, and oh boy was it smoking fucking red hot.

Well I ran inside thinking i'd play a joke on him, and he was on his phone. So I went up to him and made a silent gesture like I needed his help getting the socket off of the bolt. He grabs it without a seconds thought, grips it tight as hell with full intent to get it off with all his strength, and within 4 seconds, throws the socket to the floor, drops his phone, runs out screaming and breaks the frame to the front door, in a fit of rage. His hand has a huge blister in the palm and his finger tips are swollen lol.

It's all cool now though, I apologized and bought him dinner.

But that's how we roll lol. I admit I didn't count on him squeezing it in his hand and hurting himself.

Seems kinda shitty to me man, burns like that really suck bad. Specially on your hands, should have at least got it on vid or something. There are deffinately a lot easier ways to get bolts out of sockets than heating them up.. that probably didn't even help at all

So true. I would have taken that rage that he used to break the door and broken your face. I'm not the kind of person you screw with. But that's just me.

Sounded funny at the time,but as they say,you could have really hurt someone.
That would not be tolerated in my shop or for that matter around me at all.

EDIT: If you ever get a broken bolt in a socket again.1st,never put heat to it(u will ruin the temper) of the socket,or hurt someone.Place the socket in a vise and use a punch and hammer.

Right, after the heat didn't work, that's the second thing I did(vise and punch), and it popped right out. And I wouldn't do this in a work environment. Never. I was at home, and we all prank each other constantly. Plus, I offered for him to get me back without any contest. We finally agreed that I would let him heat up a bolt or whatever else, and place it in my hand. And then we are even(meaning he can't get me back again). His hand is completely uninjured, it just scared him really..

A year or so ago, I had boiling hot water splash and land on my daugters arm. She was about 3 1/2 at the time. She was wearing a long sleeved shirt but that didn't help. She started rubbing her arm where the water landed and she started crying. I pulled her shirt off and the skin had peeled off with her shirt. The top layer of skin was missing, about the size of a half dollar but shaped like an egg. I felt so bad cause it was my fault and it was stupid how it happened.

I thought you were going to say that the skin on his finger was stuck to the bolt. That would've sucked.

That sucks, I know you didnt mean to, ....and even so, if it was me that done it, I would have sooo felt like utter shit. I hate when kids get hurt. Except when they like are acting crazy and accidently slam thereselves into something (and not really get hurt), now thats funny. My GF's kid is wide open 24/7 and hes always running all over the place and always tripping over something (toys, shoes, his own feet)....its hilarious.
