4x4 v6 vin code W. Battery will die after car sat all night. Sometimes even just a couple hours. Got battery tested it was bad, replaced it. Worked ok a few days. Then again. Had alt tested. Everything came out fine. Hooked my meter up. Park everything off battery had 12.41 volts. Positive disconnected and meter had no amps. like used meter to connect battery again. It will jump fine. Gauge volt meter at night with lights on when i turn the gauge will move when blinker flashes. If that helps any.

With a fully charged battery, engine running at approximately 2,000 RPM, all accessories off, voltage at the battery should be 14.2 volts. Large wire on rear of alternator should show battery voltage at all times. Smaller brown wire on the side of the alternator should show battery voltage with key on engine off, and show 14.2 volts with engine running. Post your results.

Tested while running 14.4 at battery. didnt test the alternator. But did notice yesterday that there was some static still in my speakers when car was off. So been pulling the radio batt fuse when it will be sitting. Did fine last night. Still volts drop on gauges with windows or heat and lights is real bad.

Also had parts store test it and everything is reading fine.

The accuracy of the factory volt meter is not good, don't rely on it. 14.4 volts means the alternator and voltage regulator are both working. If the problem no longer exists with the radio fuse out, check the circuit for a short. Is the radio a factory one, or is it aftermarket?

Its aftermarket. I used a harness and soldered the wires sealed with heat shrink. There is a thick black wire not hooked up but shows no power.

That's a good way to make connections! I would disconnect the radio completely and see if the battery problem goes away.

Ok ill give that a shot if the whole fuse thing stops working. So far pulling the fuse is working. Does the 95 have the thing where radio stays on till door opens? If so mine dont do that.

RAP (Retained Accessory Power) was an option, your vehicle may or may not have it.

Ok Ill try to find out if mine has that RAP option in it. Latest update though. Since pulling radio batt fuse every time i am parking it for a while the problem has stopped. Now had the heater, wipers, and lights on one night and at a stop my volts on the dash gauge would dip way down and everything would dim down. Would be fine while moving though. Still flickers when turn signal is on to.
