I've looked through about 1000 threads and searched like crazy because I didnt want to ask this if it already had been, but I couldn't find it. So I really need some help.

I have an '88 Caprice that I wish to change the dash speakers in. I've tryed to remove the dash pad to do so. I have removed all the screws at the front and both pass and drivers side. Something still seems to be holding the dash pad in though. Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks folks!!

You should also remove the steering column bracket and lower the steering column. Also tilt the steering wheel to the lower position and move the shift lever to L (1).
Then remove also the instrument panel cluster (dashboard) by removing the bolt before.
Then disconnect switch connected to your bezel. That's what holding the bezel.

your missing 4 screws that are in the defrost vents . 2 in each vent on each side. there is also 2 screws one on each side of the dash when the doors are open you will see them. there also the screws on the under edge of the dash 7 or 8 you cant miss them. there is no repeat no need to remove the steering column bracket and lower the steering colum if you have a tilt colum.

On my 89, the speaker grills just pop out and then you remove 4 screws holding the speaker in.

Are the 88's that different that you need to remove the dash pad to replace the speakers?
