i just purchase a 98 park ave...love it! but it is having a turn signal issue, we have checked all fuses and bulbs and have come to the conclusion it is the turn signal switch...has anyone else had this problem i am agravated the new switch is over 300 dollars and was sent the wrong part once alrealy. I was also told this was a common issue with this year so a junk yard switch will almost be like a waste of time because most were faulty. does anyone know if this is true and any ideas to get it fixed cheaper.

the left blinker does not work at all....sometimes the right blinker will work but it is off and on when it wants to. When you turn on the hazards all the bulbs work and the fuses have all been checked...so leads us to believe its is the actual blinker switch and checking prices they are around 300 dollars...i hate to replace if that is not for sure what it is but obviously need those blinkers!:eek7: the auto parts store said oh yeah that happens in alot of those park aves...now give me your 300 bucks : ) just hoping there is something we have missed and its a simple fix...any help is appreciated thanks

Unfortunately, it's true. This is a common problem. I've had my Park Ave for 5 years now and have gone through 2 switches, the most recent one was not under my extended warranty and cost me $500+ to replace.
The first time, the switch would not self-cancel...not a huge issue, but the warranty paid for the repair, so why not? That was about 4 years ago. This last time (about 6 months ago) was different. The signals went completely screwy...the left turn signal would not shut off at all...unless the right signal was on...
I have to say that the one that I just got seems to be more "heavy duty", if you will. It seems to have more substance when turning on/off the signals...doesn't seem quite so flimsy. Hopefully, it's the last one I'll have to replace.
Good luck
