Seems like we are getting news about earthquakes, hurricanes, etc almost weekly now. This is a screenshot from yahoo news today:

May be collective karma? If one believe it explain much.

I think situation is worst from when I was young, but people's sensibility, consciousness and understanding over environment issues is improoved: hopefully this attitude would one day overtake mere business interests.

OH YEAH! Great Idea, I second that! How about a group build in which everybody builds a car / truck / other vehicle for the times when all goes to hell? MadMax style... or whatever you like.

360spider, you have a source of news that is too good. If you watched local news only it would seem the world is normal. Yahoo news and others are looking for disasters to talk about so, it doesn't matter where they occur and you will hear about it. The more bad news you here the worse things seem even though it is also probably normal.


Just in case you better build models like it is your last chance. lol

There has always been death and devistation, always will be. I'm sure there are some earthquakes and cyclone/tornadoes that do more damage than what we have seen in the past, but this stuff is all common place, happens every day all around the world.

Earth is a huge place, but with internet, instant news and vigilante reporting, we hear of a lot more stuff because of it.

It is truely sad to hear so many people lost their lives, and many more will follow, but (not to be insensitive) that is life...it ends. Who knows, maybe our respective "creators" are calling us home. If so, I really hope he comes knocking on my door.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the human race giving up on egoism.

Some natural disasters (hurricane, tornado) do gain some magnitude and become more devastating because of global warming while some (earthquake) probably has nothing to do with global warming. I think the trend of increasing casualty is probably due to exponentially booming population. A random earthquake today has a higher probability of killing more people than an earthquake back in 1800.

Natural disasters have been around for quite awhile. But this isin't the way God ment it to be. Gods heart is deeply saddened for the destitude and broken as a result of natural disasters. He does not cause these disasters, but pours His love out on those who encounter them. "whats happening here" is a visual result of sin entering our world.

For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

Someone posed this question recently elsewhere and it was actually studied by the USGS (US Geological Survey). The number of earthquakes was NORMAL for the year. I found it hard to believe, but...statistics are statistics.

Anthropogenic Global Warming, on the other hand, is a bunch of bunk and has been shown to be by the "scientists'" own emails...IMNSHO
