Locked out

I locked my keys in my trunk, had an MP (military police) come out with his kit to try to unlock it. Epic fail. The automatic locks wouldn't unlock from the inside and he couldnt grab the actual lock because of its rounded shape.

Has anyone had this problem? If so, what the heck did ya do?

What year?

Most of the time I'll use the tool that goes under the window to grab the lock button manually. It usually takes longer to get the tool out than the door unlocked!

Otherwise head on down to the dealer with proof of ownership and they'll cut you a new key. Locksmith will be able to do the same.

Junction Towing near my house will do it for 30.00. You can call them, they will come and unlock it, but once you are inside the car you have to show them proof of ownership whether that be registration or an insurance card that matches your name on your Drivers License. Otherwise they lock it back up, charge you, and leave.

TIm, you can buy a car lockout kit (similar to what tow truck drivers carry) at harbor freight for about $60-$70. It will have 5 or 6 different tools for a variety of vehicles.

Lmao, so... I ended up just tearing the lock of the trunk out and poppin' it open with a screw driver. Which was cool, because the keys were in the trunk!! I now have a big hole in my trunk, but I plan on covering it and re-painting the trunk. Think it will look better that way anyways!!

This one makes for a good story.

The tow truck drivers around me have this little pump that is put in the door frame and the roof. They will pump it up just enough the slide a round bendable long hook device and was able to hit the door lock switch and get the car open. That cost me $70 to get the GP open.
