My horn and crusie dont work. i have checked the fuses and they are fine. I was thinking it might be something in the steering wheel. I want to take it apart but im worried about the airbag. Does anyone have any advice?

Year and model will help. It is possible the cruise module is a problem. Ford runs a common ground for the cruise and horn through the cruise module. Depands on the model year. If it is the 94 XLT, check pins 6 and 10 on the module. They are grounds.

well i checked everything did some research, found that the speed control was takin off. i replaced it and it didnt help. the reason i think it is in the steering wheel is bc i no the horn works bc i have set the alarm off and my air bag dumby light is on. i think someone might have did something in there like cut some wires or didnt put something back right.

Is your airbag light flashing? Maybe a code 32, 3 flashes a pause and 2 more flashes? If so, that is the code for a broken clockspring. I would suspect a broken clockspring anyway.

I have never replaced a clockspring, but apparently it makes contact from the middle of the steering wheel down through the steering column, the part that turns when you turn the steering wheel. It must be somewhere just below the steering wheel when you pull it off. The first time I read of the clockspring on a forum like this, I thought the poster was pulling everyone's leg.
I have a '94 F-150 in which the horn and cruise don't work and the airbag light is flashing a code 32, so I need to investigate the clockspring when I get time.
