I am sure other people have had that code.
But it is hard to match other peoples problem to yours.

Code is for solenoid circuit not a malfunction.
Codes should always be cleared and see if they return.
First check wiring and plugin to it for ign 1 voltage to it and good ground to it.
The jumper fused 12 volts to it and see if it works.

Let us know what you find there.

I did clear the code twice and it came back. This did happen once before when I had the oil changed. Got into a heated argument with the oil change people. They said it was not due to anything the did. The code did go away after a few startups. That was a couple months ago. May just be a bad ground. Can you tell me where the solenoid is located? Thanks, Ron

Front of fuel tank.
You may want to check with dealer.
It may be under your emissions warranty.

I've had little time to spare lately. I did get under the AV today for a short period. Forward of the fuel tank appears to be a motor for the ABS and forward of that what I'm guessing to be a fuel shutoff. I did not see anything resembling a fuel tank vent solenoid. I did find a couple grounds on the frame that I loosened and retightened. I was not able to clear the code today. I'll get to it tomorrow. Mabey what I think is a fuel shutoff is actually the vent solenoid? Ron

They do not have a fuel shut off valve.
Two plastic vent lines and a 2 wire solenoid will be vent valve and solenoid.

I finally got to work on the AV today. What I thought was the vent solenoid turned out to be a flex fuel sensor. I found out by searching the part number. Besides the ABS motor that is all that is mounted forward of the fuel tank. Anyone have any idea where this sensor is?
Thanks, Ron

I finally found the solenoid. It was located aft of the fuel tank almost centerline above the driveshaft. I removed it and checked it out. It was not very dirty at all. The solenoid did not function when I put power to it. Does anyone have a replacement part number for this?
Thanks, Ron

Problem Solved:
After some research I found a GM repair kit which replaces the solenoid assy with a unit that moves the vent filter to above the transmission. The cost was $95.00 to over $130.00. After more research I found the AC Delco p/n for the OEM replacement. (p/n 2142149) The costs is less than $25.00 at Advance Auto and it came with a 1 year warrantee! No brainer... :) Thanks for the help.

You are welcome.

I cleared the code and now the code reader shows that it passes emissions.
