Hi guys,
I have finally decided to start my R35, i know some of you are thinking "not another R35" cause there has been a few on here, but this is my first one but hopefully not the last. It will be a slow project as i dont get much time to model and i have to be in the mood to do it lol.
Anyway this is the kit.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/r352.jpg
And these are the extras i hope to add.
Fujimi PE set.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/r354.jpg
KA models flocking. I never used flocking before so it will be a learning curve.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/r355.jpg
I dont have any started pics at the moment, all ive done is mock up the body.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/r353.jpg
Thanks for looking, and hope you like my project.

Hi,
Thanks for the comment. Spent awhile today doing some decaling on and off. Ive looked at lots of r35's on this forum and havent noticed any with the skirts around the bumpers done in carbon (i could be wrong though), so i thought id give it a go. I first tried the rear one as that would be the hardest and if it came out alright id do the rest. Well it came out ok so i carried on.
This is a pic of the back bit done and the rest waiting to be done.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/003.jpg
This is how i get the pattern on to carbon decal (just tamiya tape used as template).
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/008.jpg
This is the pic of them all decaled, ill let it completely dry over night and give it a coat of smoke tomorrow.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/011.jpg
I know its now where near as good as some other peoples decaling but its good enough for me.
I also had a little accident.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/005.jpg
The bumper didnt fit properly so i thought id just give it a little bend, and then snap and a few profanitys. :D Lucky it snaped quite clean so just glued it back together and a bit of putty applied. Hopefully should turn out alright.

Hope you like my work.
Thank you

Just a small update. I havent had much time lately to do much painting.
I gave the carbon bits a coat of tamiya smoke just to darken them up abit.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/carbon.jpg
Also received my flocking the other day. Still waiting for the p/e parts.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/flock.jpg
The body is currently in primer and hopefully have some colour in the next few days.
Thanks for looking at my build.

Put some colour on it this afternoon. It is Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red. I think it came out quite nice. Pics are a little different colour because of the light that was on. This is only sprayed, no clear or polish for about a week to let it set properly.

Hi thanks guys for watching my build.
Just a little update. Ive finished painting all the molded chassis. Came out ok.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/a-1.jpg
Fujimi has some good details but they are quite hard to paint all molded as one.
Heres a pic of a few chassis parts drying.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/ab.jpg
And a very average pic of the wheels. Painted in tamiya gun metal with some little details from the p/e set.

Hope you like my work. :D

Hi, another little update. (sorry if i am boring you with the updates).
Here is a pic of the brakes in progress. Left to right:
Part just off sprew, part with p/e disk, and finished with caliper and paint.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/111.jpg
Picture of all the brakes finished. These would be the best kit brakes (even without p/e) that ive seen in a kit. They are made so that the disk actually spins with the wheel. :bigthumb: :bigthumb:

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/11-4.jpg
Next ive got some pictures of the front and rear subframes. And an overall picture of the chassis.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/1-5.jpg
Last picture is the 90% done exhaust. My first attempt at trying titanium staining, i know its not perfect but its not as easy with a brush as an airbrush. :D
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/91p10nizmo/1111111.jpg
Hope you like my work, im putting alot more care into this model to make it my best yet. Thanks

I just came accross this progress thread and I love it! I think you were cutting your abilitities a little short inthe beggining about not being good at decaling etc, the Carbon Fiber job turned out amazing. The paint turned out really good and I wish I was putting down paint like that. I also love the undercarriage and the exhaust details. Also the breaks look fantastic and I the extra care you are putting into this is really paying off, I cant wait to see your start the engine. Keep it up Nathan

Hi guys,
Thanks for watching my thread.
Havent been at the table much lately but i have 99% finished the body, just have some decals and the licence plates to go on. Yes i know there is some orange peel but im still practising doing polishing, as i dont wet sand the paint incase i muck it up. Im quite happy how it has turned out. Body is tamiya ts colour with no clear and polished and waxed with tamiya products. This was also my first time at trying to do panel lines properly.
I also used the p/e mesh instead of the plastic kit stuff and painted it black. I added some mesh to the side intakes and also painted the bit s above them silver instead of the chrome.
Anyway enough chat heres a few pics, let me know what you think.

Hi guys been awhile between updates. Ive finished the interior, here are a few pictures. I must thank Tami for the decal for the screen on the dash as it doesnt come with the fujimi kit. Interior is painted in different types of black and ive added some p/e parts. I made some seatbelts to add that little bit of realism. I also flocked the floor and rear parcel shelf (my first attempt at that). The dash is also painted different blacks but doesnt show to good in the pics. I hope you guys like it im quite happy.
