4.0 motor quit while on the interstate, No codes, no spark. Coil did not test to specs but when I took it to O'riellys, their replacement coil showed the same numbers as my coil. Thinking it may be the crankshaft sensor (CPS) but I think I should have a code come up. I rebuilt the head about 6 months ago and it has been running good till now except for one time when it quit running but codes said it was the CPS. I disconnected the connector to the CPS and noticed some corrosion on the connector so I cleaned it and it fired right up. Any ideas where to start since I have no trouble codes. Thanks in advance

I'd check for corrosion on the same place you found it previously; if it's there, problem solved. If not, then suddenly dying on the road is one symptom of a bad cps.

Well, I went and replaced the CPS and that wasn't it. It was the coil. I went back to O'Riellys and had them pull two coils off the shelf. One had the specs mentioned in the manual and the other was the previous coil I/they tested with the bad specs. I told them that that was probably a bad coil but I bet they put it back on the shelf:frown:

Update: GC fired up and made it home yesterday. This morning it quits going down the road but eventually started and made it home. I changed the oil because it was time and appeared thin. Started it up and it quit as I was backing out of the driveway for a test drive. No codes, 44psi fuel pressure, but it appears that I'm loosing oil pressure---maybe---any ideas???
edit: while trying to start it, I see no indication of my oil pressure coming up, it had 40psi or so after the oil change.
