Problem Starting Car.

Hello. I am having a terrible problem with my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT V6 3.4L. The security light is flashing, and the car will not start at all. When I turn the key it does nothing at all. I thought at frist it was the aftermarket alarm system, but I had it removed this morning and its still doing the samething. Also the alarm was not tied into the starter anyhow. Any insight on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My car started doing this about two years ago. Put key in the ignition and try to start, then move to On position. Wait for the security light to stop flashing and go out (about 10-15 minutes). Turn key to Off position for 5 seconds then try to start. Instructions say may need repeated 3 times but my car always starts after the first time. Good luck.
