Would you take these desparate measures?

Ok I made a post in the TV forum, but this particular topic is not about the shows themselves...but more to ask how far would you go. As we all know there are a ton of these reality shows to meet spouses, perform ridiculous stunts for money, and even to get makeovers, etc.
My question to you folks is...if you were in their position (regardless if it was to be filmed or not) do you feel it's worth it t to go to all the extremes for a marriage that may not work, for a little cash leftover after the tax man gets his share, or to make some kind of permanent change to your physical appearance? I personally don't. My opinion is these people are desparate for acceptance.

If I were put into any of those positions, to me, it would depend on the circumstances. Believe it or not, some of those people use shows such as these as a way to get into television and/or movies. Some of them are in it for the pure fact of being in it, and some of them are in it for the big money/true love/best look. I myself would never go onto a dating show or make-over show simply because I have too much respect for myself for that. However, on a show like Survivor where they compete for a million dollars, Id do it. Ive seen the things they do and it looks like it would be something to tell stories of to kids and family for times afterwards. Id look at it as, I did something someone else will never get to experience. Besides, if you get voted off the island, they put you up in a nice hotel and pay for a vacation for you to go around and see the sites until the show is officially over so that you dont spill the beans. I could use a vacation.:D

I wouldn't be in the positions they are in. The shows are called reality, but that shit doesn't actually happen in real life. Get "voted" off the island - give me a break :rolleyes: The whole story line behind those shows is contrived and the people who go on there just want their fifteen of fame and a chance to bank a few bucks.

i'd go look like a jackass on TV if they were to give me a 2001 RX-7 spec R with a rebuilt/ ported t88'ed 20b engine.
