'96 Blazer degradation of electrical system!!

For the last several weeks, I've noticed a sequential degradation of various electrical systems on my '96 S-10 Blazer.
Several weeks ago, the underhood lamp ceased to operate. The bulb works, there is no power to the connector.
Last week the rear wiper stopped functioning.
Last night the dash lights would not come on, along with the alarm chime.
I am looking for a common denominator here. Are all of these circuits controlled by the ECM in some fashion?

Start at battery and check ends and grounds and pos cables.
Is it charging good and battery good.
Then move on to fuse boxes and check for good connections and power on both sides of fuses.
Also make sure ign switch is switching power on good.
Go over everything with a good volt meter.

The rest of the electrical system seems to be robust. Starter cranks well. The battery connections seem to be good. I'll check all of the fuses one more time, to see if anything changed. I think I'll unplug the PCM connectors and check for corrosion, too. :banghead:

As of Tues. night, I now have no tail lights, inst. cluster lights, parking lights. Any ideas? I checked the fuses, and thet're all good. I removed the ECM from the vehicle and nothing got any worse.
I do have interior lights, headlights, radio, engine start/run, heater blower.
What else can I check?

You have not told us what you found in post no 2.
Go threw and check stuff mentioned in post 2 and let us know what you find.

Hope you find it, maybe it'll solve my mystery. Not sure if these things are known for poor electrical but mine is slowly dying too. Currently this is what's dead on my 98:
-rear wipe
-rear light left side
-rear hatch release (won't work, but light is stuck on saying hatch is open)
-rear seat drivers side window
-power seat
-anything but "high" and "defrost" on the blower
-rear defroster
-interior dome light
...yay

It is hard to match your problems with somebody else problems.
If you need hel on your problems start a New thread on yours and someone will help you.

I didn't ask for help, I said I hope he finds an issue because I have -widespread electrical failures- as well and maybe he'll find a common spot where wires have corroded. Just letting the guy know he's not alone in owning and electrically-haunted Jimmy.
