Hey, what is the best way to remove the rear factory emblems ("Nissan" and "Maxima"). I've seen some Maximas without them ie:"DIS". How did you avoid chipping the paint etc. Thanks

get a hair dryer and heat the glue up witht he emblems a lil, dont get too close tho, it can mess up ur paint. then take a piece of fishing line and pull down behind the emblems and they should come right off, or jus pull them off instead of using the line. then ya might have a lil glue left on there so jus get it off, they wash and wax it. the outline might stay there for a week at most, but washin and waxin it should get most of it off!

How about pin stripes? Do the same thing? Do you think I should I try it myself or have someone else do it?

I wouldnt use the hair drier to remove the emblems. It doesnt provide as much heat as heat gun. With hair drier you would probably spend double time than with heat gun. I bought a heat gun from Home depot for about 25 bucks. Instead of fishing line u can u can use tooth floss. Once you have heat gun going, keep it away from the heating point at 2-3 inches. Dont consentrate on one area for too long. Go in circles. After you heated up the emblem, take tooth floss and go right behind the emblem and slowly cut into the glue, that holds the emblems to the trunk. While cutting into the glue, do up-downs moves (like with a saw) it will make it easier hehe. After you took off the emblems, get goo-gone ( i got it from walmart for about 3-5 bucks) spray it over the area where glue didnt come off. Leave the goo-gone for about 5-10 minutes and after that with some cloth you can clean your trunk. After you done all that, you will have glue marks (in shape of your emblems) left on the trunk. Thats because the glue was there for a long time and it kinda stained. All you gotta do is go to car wash and ask them to buff it out. Or you can get a buffer and do it urself (I bought buffer from walmart for about 20 bucks, its the big one, same size buffer as they use at car washes) Altho I didnt have a chance to do the buffing since last summer. Just didnt get my hands on. And now you are done. Sit back and relax and engoy your clean trunk :D

i did my emblems last night with a heat gun and it took about 10 minutes. the hard part is getting the glue off without scratching your paint. dont rub the marks to hard with your rag or you will be left with very light scratches in the paint. after all the glue was off i had someone buff it up with the machine and it came out great. very clean look.

i've been meaning to remove the hamburger, however, i do like the MAXIMA badge. plus it's titanium finish so the color looks sharp.
i just haven't got to it.
