Valve Spring Colors

I am redoing the head gaskets on my 2001 blazer. I noticed that under the Valve spring covers that the push rods on the right look black and burnt. The rods on the left look new and well lubricated. Is this something that I should be concerned with or is this just how they always do?

The right as in passenger side, or right looking at the engine from the front? This is usually the case from blowby being sucked out of the engine by the pcv valve, which in this case, is located on the drivers side. Usually that side gets carboned up a little more as a result of the pcv system. As long as there isn't haevy blowby, indicating am engine problem, its nothing to worry about.
