My truck will not start. It's a 91 w/ a 4.3. Last drove it 2 weeks ago. It turns over good and is getting gas(you can smell it from the carburetor). The distributor cap and rotor looked a little worn so I replaced those. Still nothing. So I replaced the ignition coil. Still nothing. What are the next logical things to be checking?
I know there are probably a bunch of things it could be, but if someone can point me down a logical path of things to be checking I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

Good start so far, though I would have tested the coil first before simply replacing it. Make sure you're getting a spark from the main coil lead
Next steps would be to check the EGR and IAC valves, and test the engine coolant temp (ECT) sensor mounted near the upper coolant neck.
After that I'd check for proper fuel pressure and spray pattern from the injectors. You should be able to faintly hear the fuel pump start up when you key-on the ignition...rolling the window down and being in a garage helps you hear it. Your gen diesn't have the fuel pressure test port so you'll have to find an adapter tee fitting to put a gauge on it.
Hope this helps!

Just a thought and I don't know if your year model has an ignition module within the distributor but I'd try that. Mine died on me a few months ago with the same symptoms. It would turn over perfectly and had fuel. No spark w/o the module though.....good luck.
