I bought a 2002 Intrepid about 2 months ago and the guy had just changed out the lifters as they were not working he told me that dodge vehicles tend to do this and that the knocking sound is find because now the lifters are working. The car seemed to be in good condition with 170000 miles. I have drove it almost everyday and only thing Ive noticed is sometimes it doesnt pick up speed too quickly. However tonight I went to a meeting and when I got out it gave me a little problems starting but started, I drove it approx 4 miles to my moms parked and went in for about 10 mins, It started no problem. I drove approx 10 more miles to go home and as I was making a right hand turn it all of a sudden stalled out and will not start now. It tries to start but doesnt. We cant even find the battery on this car. Any Ideas im a single mommy and broke and this car left me and my baby stranded on easter night

Welcome to AF:

Have you looked on the passenger side fender well, there should be a flap that you need to open to get to it. THere also should be connections in the engine compartment to hook up booster cables.

WHich engine??? Try using some starting fluid to see if it will run, if so check the fuel pump.

good luck

Yes Tempfisit is correct the battery should be in the fender wall, but I think it would be on the driver side, which you will have to remove the tire to get to, but either way there is connections under the hood to get jumper cables on it.
