Passanger Door Handles (Power Locks)

Hey all. I saw a car on the forum with rear passinger door handles on both driverside and passenger side front doors. The car must have power locks to do so. I wanted to buy a powerlock setup on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2412761955&category=33723) but would it be compatable with my car (90 hb manual everything). Also, is that just a cheap alternative to shaved door handles? or is it pretty cool?

Thanks

Scott

Hey yeah that will work. All you would need now is a keyless entry module with the controls. I just did this mod to my car, except i got the alarm system. there is a how to here somewhere let me look for it and i'll post it

nice! HEy cfm. Can you send me the tutorial that you used for your car. I have a 90hb as well. I would like to order these today, so a.s.a.p would be great! I also am doing 2 tutorials today. One of them is the alarm and another is installing a thermostat. If anyone needs any help with an alarm just holla.

Thanks

I've got the rear-door handles from a sedan in my hatchback with the keyless entry. It kicks SO much ass. For one, you never have to use a key to unlock your door, and since my handles were painted, I was always worried about scratching the paint with the key. Second, you can remove the lock push-rod so that thieves can't use a slim-jim to open the door. Third, obviously thieves also can't punch your lock to open the door. Fourth, it looks super clean, and it's a pretty cheap mod, I got my handles for $40 total from the junkyard.

Just go to a local car-audio shop and pic up the actuators, they're like $15 bucks a piece. Then install them and hook them up to an alarm system with keyless entry. Bang.

What if u locked yourself out. How would you be able to get in? Cause i have been thinking about changing the door handles but kinda scared.

For hatch-backs and CRX's, you can still use your key in the hatch and crawl in if your battery dies or whatever...

For sedans, I'm not sure... It would be possible to hook up some sort of hidden exterior trigger so that you could use a 9-volt battery to get in or something...

How long does it take to install?

For the actuators, all you have to do is remove your door panels, drill 2 holes and screw the actuators in. Then attach the actuator rods to the lock-rods, and that's it. Then you just have to run the wires through the door to the relays and the alarm system... Personally, I just installed the actuators and let the local car-audio shop install the alarm and relays... if you already have an alarm, just take it in and have them wire up the relays and actuators...

Only took me about 4 hours to remove the door panels, install the actuators, and re-install the door panels.

It would be better to install that switch in the trunk, you can still open your trunk with the key, put in some kind of small switch or a cable that would fold down the seats or something like that, incase shit happen!
