Questions around lifting rear end of blazer

I have a 1996 s10 Blazer. I am thinking about lifting the rear end a few inches. I saw some 2 and 3 inch blocks at a local auto parts store that go in between the leaf springs and axle? Should I avoid these? and What are some recommendations in order to gain a few inches in the rear end?
Thanks, Jake

Lift blocks won't help the fact your springs are sagging badly. For me, I went to a spring shop (usually near trucks stops or large truck garages) and had my rear springs re-arched and had them add a leaf as well. Don't confuse this with those cheap add-a-leaf kits you buy as those are somewhat flakey if you ask me. Cost me $300, could be less where you are as we get quite screwed in Canada for parts/repairs. This lifted the rear about 2" and gave me back the ability to actually put a load on the back including my camper which has a 300lb tongue weight. I can be fully loaded with gear and my camper and still sit level and yet when empty it still has a decent ride too.
