Couple of issues with '03

Ok..need to pick the brains of the automotive geniuses on here. My '03 Expo is giving a few problems..
1. I cannot eject cd's out of the in-dash changer..I have no trouble switching between cd's. Is there something I can do? I took it to a shop and they said it needed to be replace..yea right, they just wanted the sale.
2. I have a rattle under the front passenger side, near the cats. Ex hubby says it's most like a loose cover..no check engine codes or any mechanical problems, just an annoying as sin rattle when I'm accelerating. Something I can handle?
I'm somewhat mechanically inclined..if it's something simple, I'll get my hands dirty..heck I replaced the o2 sensors last year. Any help would be appreciated...thanks in advance:cool:
