Please bear with me as I try this WIP thing. Well as I mentioned in another post, I pretty much ruined the car stripping the paint after I failed miserably trying to touch-up the areas where I rub the paint off. That said, I ordered a new kit :( and as of this moment rain stopped my painting. So I decided to update this mess.

I have started on the interior, which I am trying to do in matt and nearly flat blacks with Tamiya XF-8 Flat blue highlights. This is my second attemp at titanium exhaust so fire away (gulp). I also trying to go for a dry carbon look and thought of not clearcoating CF. Is there a flat you guys would recommend? Enjoy :lol2:

Just hit a snag. I had to find a diff place to paint since this white is very unforgiving. So in trying to touch-up and sand I hit what I thought was a dry spot and pulled the paint!!!!:loser:

I'm ready to put this car away for a while and work on something else :frown:

Well here is a quick update. I got the wheels like I wanted with carbon fiber lips :) Sadly they might be too small. I think the car comes with 22s so mine look weird. They are my 1st cjoice, but not the only choice so we will see...

After looking at the interior I figured that it needed more detail. The fact that everytime I google the GT-R I find more aftermarket items for it lol. And since I recently recieved my Hobby Design PE set, I went for it. I drilled out speaker and air vent holes and added racing seats and a hareness. I also added Studio27 CF decals to the speaker box between the rear seats, and Kevlar to the seats. Hope you guys like it

Finally started working on the engine bay. I hope I am not wrong about this, but it seems like Fujimi is using the radiator as the intercooler in this kit :(. The only offer a very thin part the goes behind the front bumper that resembles an intercooler. So I decided this would not work for me and got to work.

I am basically going to switch them around. Drill ot openings for the TT tubing and spray the intercooler with Alclad chrome since a small part of it will show. Of course the one here is aluminum atm.

I like the engine and carbon work however, it is your choice, but I don't agree with the whole stormtroupers thing! Other than that, the GT-R is coming along nicely!

Quick update. So far I am going with the Aoshima BBS wheels. I painted the centers with Alclad "jet exhaust". After dying it ended up brownish, but I can live with it. I might also try a taller tire to fill gap in wheel well.

I love this theme so much I wish I had late BMW kit to do it on. White BMW's rock. I think I might try on less expensive kit like new Camaro so if I mess up white (wow what a pain to paint clean) it wont hurt too bad to get extra kit :)

More to come (I hope)

They could be mounted in the so called ISOFIX-mounts which are designed to hold baby seats in place on the rear seats. These are very strong and bolted to the monocoque body.

They have almost the same locations in my BMW. Hidden in the joint between the rear backrest and seat cushion.

BTW good job on the GTR! Interesting choice of livery!
Cheers!

Hello everyone. Sadly I had to take the car apart to fix window since polishing compound dried and got inside, leaving white flakes all over the interior. And since I was not happy with the finish I re-sprayed it :) Now I am trying to figure out if I should polish the finish, or just leave it in a low gloss look to compliment the flat "dry carbon" accents. What do you guys think? Keep in mind that there is a lot of glare from the outside
