VW Golf GTi Mk2 - Old School Racer Style

Yet another one I have on the go! This is definitely the last one for a while as the weather is starting to improve here so can do some painting soon and finally get some completed!

This is the Fujimi kit which I thought was ok but then I realised that the roof was far too low (seems to be a Fujimi theme!) so I did some more roof chopping!

I am going for a 1980's racer look so it is lowered a lot and I have used the 15inch BBS style wheels left over from my E30 BMW M3 build which I think look the part!

You've gone roof chopping mad what with the 2 x E30 BMW's you're doing too! But the Fujimi Golf is definitely too low, I know, I had a real 1988 16Valve 1:1 version until some idiot drove in to it head on, out of control & killed it! Anyway, the bodyshape now looks just as I remember it (before it was smashed & with different BBS wheels). What you going to chop the roof off next?!

Yeah this will be a cool thread! I'll follow it as a big VAG fanatic :D

Those wheels looks really oldskool and suits it well!
