Hazard Lights blink randomly

Hello all, I have a 97 3.1L lumina. Just all of a sudden the past few days I have been experiencing that the hazard lights will blink a few times and then they will randomly go off. This occurs even when my key is not in the ignition. Does this condition have something to with the security feature on the car? The only thing I have done to the car is bypass the vats chip with a resistor matching my keys ohms reading. I completed that bypass project a few months ago and have had no problems until now. Any help would be appreciated.
