Maybe someone out there has a pointer or two for me....
I've got a leaking axle shaft seal that I'm trying to replace. No problems until it comes to the point where I need to disengage the shaft from the transaxle. I've tried prying with a "stanley" wonder bar and basic mechanic's prybars. No luck. Not for the past 4 hours. Anyhow, does anyone have any suggestions that may help me get this out? Such as specific type of prybar, or how to get better access...anything will help. Thanks!

Try prying from both sides at the same time, rocking it as you go.

I can only get access to the aft side...I can get good leverage, but no budge. Matter of fact, my "wonder" bar broke....guess it was more designed for removing nails.

There's usually a little play & you can push the axle in a little bit. That gives you a little room to get a running start. It might sound crazy but I think it helps. It works best if you have an assistant to hold the axle in then you tap on the prybar with a mallet.
