1998 Plymouth Voyager 3.3L

hi to all,

i have this minivan that my wife use everyday and one morning, the battery went dead and just you hear the starter clicks when you start the ignition,

this morning, its totally dead, just nothing when you start the ignition... she said it was running fine yesterday and overnight what coud have happen?

i noticed the speedometer needle on the middle at 65mph mark?

anyone have this problem before?

Make sure the battery has a full charge, 12.6 volts is a generic spec. Make sure the battery connections are clean and good. Check the charging system. You can do some checking yourself, with a digital multimeter.

yes i did , its a new battery only 3 days old after the first incident.. i dont know if its fuse related or relay or brain..

i put another battery and just nothing even if you turn on the key , no click, no sounds, no horn, no beep, no lights.. its just totally dead.

I can't tell if security system, might be an issue. I'd check the voltage circuits at the starter relay. Terminal 30 is hot all the time, terminal 86 goes hot with the key in the crank position. There are applicable fuses, use a voltage tester. Did you try cranking in neutral?

after i went thru all the things that need to be check( clean battery cables, checked all fuses, theres gas in the tank, charged the battery again and checked the relays) i put battery and still nothing. i was pissed i dont know what else so i went under the minivan to check if theres a connection to the starter and found the positive cable to the battery very loose.. tightened it back and BINGO....

weird ..how did that happen..

its becoming to be an annoying problem with my wifes minivan, after a week of no problem, this morning her van wont start again and the battery is completely dead, she used it after a week and everymorning starts fine, but since she doesnt work sunday so she parked the van on saturday, did not use it for one day and early monday morning, BOOM.... it will not start again because the battery is completely dead.. what could be draining the battery?or what coud be causing this problem..?

its weird.. never had this before.., i cleaned all contacts , battery cable and tightened them from battery to starter and to the fuses.. i could not think of anything else.. HELP...

You can check for excessive amp draw, at the battery, with everything turned off. If drain is excessive, check for any lites that maybe left on, the best time to check is in the dark. Interior lites -- glove-box lite-- under the hood--in the rear of vehicle, somewhere. If that doesn't show anything and the drain is excessive, you start pulling fuses, one at a time. When you pull the fuse on the effected circuit, the drain drops to normal. That way, you know which fuse circuit the drain is on. Then you have to check everything that is on that fuse circuit.
