I am going to buy a 1992-1999 Honda Civic Hatchback standard.
It will be my project car. So i would like to know witch engine i should put in the car. I want an engine that i can nicely modifie not to expensive to modifie that has a nice sound stock and that is not to expensive to instal. If possible provide me with a few types of engines you would recommend me in order (exemple: 1:K24 2:K20 3:B18 4:B20....(this are just exemples)). Thank you very much for all you help in advence.
Will show pictures when started to modifie.

Thanks, Nick

Well it mostely depends on where you live and the emitioin laws that apply!! Like for example, I live in California and pretty much, there is California emitions and then there is the rest of the United States.. Where you can Buy a 92-95 EG/EJ chassis and put a K24A2 in it and use as a daily driver, it is not allowed in Cali, it has to be in the same Emitions Family (i.e. OBD1-OBD1) if you buy a 97 or newer hatch (EK) then you can pretty much use any model engine from a B16A/B16B(CTR) to a K20A/K24.

Engines/Swaps!! B-series swaps will always be a hole lot less expencive than a K swap. The basic starter kit for a K series swap into an older chassis is gonna run you about 3300-3600 (thats without the engine/trans/axles/ecu/harness), then you got to get a good K series power plant thats gonna run anywhere between 3800-5000 depending on where you go.. If you have a healthy pot to play with, then go K, but if your on a limited budget I strongly recommend building a B20/LS V-TEC set up and running it on a GS-R trans, I used to have a 93 DA with a similar set up and P pulled 230 BHP at the wheels, make sure you build the Bottom end propperly and have it ballanced, otherwise it wount make it past 5000 miles, B20's are a low end tourq engine that were only built to spin as hi as 6500 rpm's, mine went to 9500rpm's with a proper ballancing and the right internals and a block guard. but my dunb ass decided to put nos and it went boom, so unless you know what your doing with that bottle, leave it alone...
