Hello, My name is Tyler and I have a 1999 hyundai tiburon. Starting off with a normal walmart battery and a stock Altenator.
I can run the system and it sounds great. once i turn it up to 27 + it starts to cut off on the hards hits. only for a short pause to cut off again on the next hit. My ground wires seem to be fine. All the other wires are solderd very carefully.
Please help Me!!:crying:

I am running 0 gauge wire throughout the car leading from battery to cap to amp. the wires leading from cap to amp is only aprox. 4-6 inches long.

Im trying to run two Kicker 08S15L74 15" 2000w dual 4-ohm subwoofer wired parallel to 1-ohm. (in a sealed box if that matters.)

Gains all the way down, and the head unit is also bass 0 etc.

take the cap out of the circuit and see what happens

also, what does the voltmeter read on the cap when it cuts out ?

Started out with no cap. Did this same thing before i added it. Figured the lack of a cap was the problemo. so i have tried testing it without the cap. no success

I have just played around a little with the car. It seems to last a bit longer when i drive for a while with no music or amp drawing power. maybe altenator charging the battery to peak be4 i play it? do you think the lack of a brand new batt. could be the problem?

you're drawing too much power, batterr, alt or both may be going bad.

okay. so i bought a new battery more power better amp etc etc. but it still cuts out but only sometimes?

your alternator is still not keeping up with the peak power demand.

IC? and damn! i cant find a better then stock altenator anywhere in this town!!!

you have to order high output altys off the net, no one locally will carry them

ImTyler

okay. um what would your recommendations with altenators sizes be? i found a 90-amp remanufactured. would that be reasonable?

PaulD

that might be enough, you really need take current readings to see

think i just figured it out.. its shaking the head unit to much and it skips on the cds. Fm/am radio it doesnt cut out. i think problem solved. any recommended head units? that doesnt cost the price of my car. preferably with a remote. nothing fancy such as screens etc. or is there a simple fix to this problem?

try cutting a tie-wrap or two into like 1/2 -1 " stips and stuffing them between the mounting basket and cd player. Also make sure the back strap is installed.

it's honestly hard to trell what something sounds like from a youtube video. Generally, I would have ditched the cap, but that's just me.

Had the same problem in my boat. Use an Ipod or mp3 player. If your head unit has an input which it most probably does the cost of the Ipod would be cheaper than a new head unit.

for some vehicle/stereo combos, the cap does help with light dimming
