Front Strut Bar

What kind of Front strut bar should I get. Is there a big difference between the different companies or should I just buy a cheap one off of E-bay?

man, you could get one from Pep Boyz, they don't really do anything special, I mean you could make one out of a metal tube crush the ends and drill holes in'em and bolt it on, it'll do the same thing as some $500 GReddy strut bar. git the cheapest on that looks descent.

Ebay - $40 bucks. They all do the same thing!

You can get a strut bar for 40 bucks shipped from www.Speedpeople.com Its called Zero1Racing front strut bar. The price of it is 30 bucks but shipping/insurance comes out to 10 dollars. If you want to see how it looks check out my homepage. I had that strut bar on since november of last year. As all other strut bars it increases your handling and I never had any problems with it. Its great, I love it.

So, you guys dont think it matters what kinda strut bar one uses? I was just wondering if there is any benefit to buying a slightly more expensive one like the "zero1racing" for $40 as opposed to a $15 one thats on ebay. Thanks

i think it was in ebay that i saw an inexpensive stillen lookalike fstb, if not they have some other ones that look great and are very cheap.
get a rear sway bar along with the fstb for a bigger handling upgrade.

no offense to anyone on this thread, but how many fucking times is someone gonna ask if a generic piece of aluminum is better than one with a name brand. aluminum is aluminum. all fstb's are, more or less, the same damn thing. i totally undertand now why the org has a search feature and why some of the members get testy at basic Q's

Well, the only difference I noticed between the bars is the shape and the material used. If you get a titanium one, it will be stiffer than an aluminum one, and also much much more expensive. I also prefer a strut bar with as little holes drilled in it as possible. The one I have still deflects up and down about a half an inch when I apply quite a bit of force. Other than that, they are all pretty much functionally similar.

I got one from Otto Racing for something like $50 plus shipping.

Should the strut bar go straight across or curve up a little?

u should go over on the org in the 4th gen and see wats goin on with the ftsb's u have to redo the bracket holding the evap canister or it will rest on top of it and crack it, causing ur car to throw codes. jus thought ya might wanna check on that stuff before gettin one!!!!;)

Well, if the strut bar doesn't bend up a little, you're going to have a hell of a time getting it on your car. The entire intake manifold will be in the way.

97wvmax - he has a 98 Maxima, its not an issue for him. That was only for the 99s I believe. I could be wrong. My FSTB rests on top of what appears to be part of the PCV system. That may be what you're talking about.

It can be seen in this picture between the throttle cables and the FSTB.

fstb threads are for newbies.... i used to love shopping around for the best fstb and looking at the stillen and other expensive ones on line.:cool:
