v8 conversion w/original trans

Was wondering if anyone knows of a chevy v8 kit that alows you to use the original 5 speed for a 79 280zx. any help will be great.

Hmmm...how much torque can your gearbox handle?

Why would you want to put a v8 in when you can get almost as much power out of your straight 6?
There are alot of little things you can do to help the performanc of your engine, why don't your start with some performance headers, then write me about it.

Ya.. V8 swap would be great.. dont have the money to do it.. im only 15..

you would have to do a hell of alot to get 250pounds of tourqe 300hp out of a N/A L6 now wouldnt it?say about 5000dollarsto hit 250hp,because they only come with about 140hp.the only way is to turbo charge it and thats costs more than the V8 swap im sure

Just go out and get you a Muncie 4 speed. That's a lot tougher than the z trans, and then you can tell folks you have a muncie. Look for an M22 over the M21. They call that a "rock crusher".
