Need suggestions

I'm currently working on the Mystery Machine van from Scooby Doo. Now before you laugh, I'll tell you the mods to be done. It will receive a sliding ragtop, 24" rims, as much chrome as possible, and a very low stance. My question is should I paint it a new color scheme or leave it old skool like the original Mystery Machine?

Yall must have been reading my mind because I was thinking the same thing. I will have to do up some decals for it though because I can't stand those gaudy stickers they put inthe box.
