Nitto 555 Extremes? I've been having a problem launching with them. I did a 3500 rpm launch and it hooked once but every other time, I burn out and lose traction or I bog out.

wtf.

Really thats odd my friend uses them on his Talon TSI and hes never had a problem. I've read lots of good stuff about them too. Hope that your problem gets fixed soon

Nitto's really need to be heated up to perform at their best. Make sure to do a good burn out before your run, to the point where you can feel the tire start to grab. I would also try to launching at a higher rpm, maybe your 3500 is too low and that's why you sometimes bog. Also how much psi are you running in the tires when racing? Maybe try running a lower psi. I know on my street tires I had them down to 12 psi to get some hook out them.

I dropped em to 20 psi and did a 3500 launch and a 4000 launch; but I bogged out and lost traction, respectively.

I found out that the burnout is very critical with the Nitto's. If you do too much of a burnout traction will get worse. I had the best luck doing a dry burnout just until I started to see smoke and launching at 4000 RPM. I usually ran with about 25 PSI.

This (http://www.modernengineuity.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=210&papass=&sort=1&thecat=3009) is the best pic I have online right now. I just got a pretty good one from Fun Ford Houston, but I still need to scan it.
