I just found a 1/24 Hasegawa gullwing 300SL in a shop here. I had no idea Hasegawa made one. Has anyone seen this before? Is it a Hasegawa original tooling, or is it based on an AMT/Italeri tool?

Don't know, AMT had a 1/25 full detail and Heller/Airfix had a nice 1/24 full detail. Could it be a reboxed Heller or something from Revell of Germany?

Its a Italeri, hasgawa reboxes italeri kits for sale in japan. I have the convertible version, and except for the tires its a outstanding kit, even has the chrome trim for the sides molded separately.:machinegu

It's Tamiya.
Hasegawa sells Revell/Monogram and Revell Germany kits. (as well as Dragon and some other.)
The 300 SL kit is most likely a rebox of Revell Germany kit, which is probably Heller kit, since it's 1/24 scale.
You can find it in Gunze box, too.

Yikes... I think I'll skip it then. It was going for US$45... a real "collectors item". The box art showed opening doors though... it was rather tempting.
I think I'll get the Italeri one instead.
