Most Pathetic Races Ever...!

Post up about races you have been in, or that you have witnessed, that were just sad and or pathetic.

Last night I was in my 92 Sentra [B12]. Before I get started, remember that this car had 70hp at the crank when it was new...it has less now.

I pulled up on a friend who was driving his 91 VW Turbo Diesel, and we decided to have a go at it from a dead stop. I got a bad launch, and he got the early lead. I managed to catch up in 2nd gear, and actually got a bit ahead. His front bumper was at my back door. It was pretty even after that, I couldnt really pull away, but I wasnt gaining either.

A few days ago, I raced another friends 96 Subaru Legacy Wagon. To keep it short, I got about a car length by 100km/h. I was in her car lator, and realized that her auto tranny was slipping, so that was probably why I won that one :D

Anyone else have any lame kills they wanna post up? :p

Hahah, last night. On my way back from a party my friend Anthony decided he wanted to race me...In his TOYOTA TERCEL!! HAHAH! I think it's a 93 or something. We pull up to a stoplight where we have to make a left and we were gonna go for it after we turned(there were two left hand turn lanes so we were next to each other, me on the left, him on the right). The light turns green and we both turn left. He guns it around the turn and I cruise around normally. I left him go ahead for about 8 carlenghts before I give it half throttle. Catch and pass him promptly as if he was in reverse:p :p A few seconds later we make our turn onto a one-lane street with me in front. I see him in the mirrors switch lanes and pass me on the left, in the opposite lane! I let him go as it was amazingly funny. The best part is, after he passes, he switches back in front of me and throws on the hazards and has everyone in the car(4 people) reach out the window and flick us off! It was great, LOL.

Also last night I was at a bar sitting outside on the patio. I watched this old beat up late 80's Suburban line up next to a late 80's Beat to hell Mustang. The 'burb was revving his motor trying to get the stang to go. I think he had glass packs or something because it was loud as hell. The light when green and then mustang jumped up to his front bumper and then the burb started pulling up to him and we watched him eventually pass the stang. It was pretty funny.

A bunch of kids in a Toyota Sartlet GT, and al 100hp at the wheels in it tried to take me on in my GTR.

I nearly died in laughter as I used just over half throttle to pull away :D

It is nothing really special in the grand sceme of Skylines here in New Zealand. You'd be suprised on the amount of high performance cars running around here. We've got a lot of Japan's best, and Euro's Evo's, WRX's, Ferrari's, Porsche's, Skylines, NSX's, and more. There are plenty of highly modified smaller cars that with their power to weight ratio's would hand me my lunch as restrictions on mods are pretty lax.

I've got plenty going into the car over the next couple of years that will make it one of the more powerful road cars here, but for the time being she goes alright as Taranaki (forum mod) found out. Here is his thread

95 corisca vs 97 cavalier both auto cavy had intake + muffler..........dead even then the corsica pulled ahead alittle........so sad.......so slow

Funniest i've ever witness when a Mazda 323 starting throwin rev's at my brother's Supra (MkIII n/a not fast but fast enough) needless to say it never lasted more then 7-8 seconds and we had 4-5 lengths and he just let off and let him do a little fly by then he really got on 'er and completely raped him man that was funny

I tried to get a freind to race me in his borrowed Geo Metro once (against my 1982 Toyota) My five extra horsepower made short work of the Geo.

This happened about 3 weeks ago but I was just cruising with my friends and stoped at a redlight and a Geo Metro with an exhaust pulls up beside me and starts reving his engine.I nearly shit my pants laughing.

We were coming home from his work late one night, and the route home includes this lonnngg straight away inbetween a Naval weapons station. Its rarely patrolled as far as I can tell.

Anywho, we lined up at the beggining of this stretch of road, I put my passenger window down so I could taunt him. He was yelling like a mad man about "You ever been beat by a COLT?!?!" and revving like crazy. I didnt want to put my truck in neutral to much hassel for an auto... so i just was yelling back at him making revving sounds "VVRooooom!!! VVVROOOOM!!!!"

The light goes green and when i went to mash out my foot fell of the pedal so TerminalV got the jump while dumping his clutch and roasting his mighty 13 inch tires for 8ft.

Once I was back on the gas i made up the ground slightly, at about 55mph the Colt was loosing steem... I pulled ever so slightly ahead at about 3/4 throttle... once I was about 2 truck lengths ahead I put on the hazards.

We slowed down a bit together and were taunting each other some more... so we went at it again from a roll... I eventually took the lead but it was fun.

Dangerous street racing!... at a mighty 65mph top speed! ooooo be afraid! :D

i raced my friends 5 door civic DX 1.something liter single cam 4 cylinder. I just mashed the pedal and i was gone that one was funny

altho racing an Escort ZX2 was funnier since they actually thought they had a chance :o turbo boost is cool pity i have no car at the moment

still saving :o requires quick in straight line but gotta be able to take the corners like a fire spitting leech :o

i think the most pathetic race i've been in was when a 1991 honda civic LX pulled up next to me it had a painted black hood a body kit that was held on by duct tape and a coffee can exhaust made out of a real coffee can. (i am not joking about this) he started to rev his probably stock engine, i just laughed and looked his car over again and revved back hell why not race this moron. the light turned green and i heard his tired chirp as he went over the rain wet line of the crosswalk. well by the other end of the intersection his front bumper was at my back bumper and he was only getting farther behind.

worst race ever...frien driving a 91 paseo raced my friens 2001 civic ex (auto) w/ intake. the paseo chirped off the line an from 1st to 2nd...i nearly died laughing when we pulled by about 3/4 of a car.

worst race w/ me driving was a 4 door civic w/ 4 ppl in it an a fart can an SLAMMED to the ground. after 2nd gear...i had bout 8 cars on the guy an jus slowed down for him to do his fly by.

Many moons ago I owned a 81 Nissan Sentra (my first car). It was pretty much powered by a squirrel on a treadmill. Top speed of just over 60 MPH. I remember lining up against my college roommates 1969 Mustang knowing I was going to lose. I think he had a dozen car lenghts on me before I could blinkn twice. :)

That car is the reason why I promised myself I'd never own a low torque no HP four banger again.

LOL, hey guys, new to the board but the worst race was back in the days when I had my 85' accord manual and raced against my friends 86 Corolla (auto). Suffice it to say I got spanked big time, my 1.5 liter engine vs his 1.8, hahaha. In 1st gear he was already 1 car length ahead (tried to burn out dumped the clutch at 1500 rpm (car kinda stalled, haha) by 2nd he was easily 2 car lengths, in 3rd at least 3-4, and by 4th he was gone!

And heading up the grapvine in my 85' accord, top speed of 35mph with a full load in the car of 5 guys uphill!!! Beat that baby!

Last Friday night as I'm heading home from my shop I'm sitting in a left turn lane waiting for the lights to cycle through when 3 Civics pull up to the lights to the right of me all side-by-side. Every one of them was pure rice with no hubcaps, big pipes, clear-lenses, and stickers. As the yellow went on in the cross-lanes the buzz-bombs started reving until the green showed. It was the most pathetic display of slow I've ever witnessed as the tires squealed, the pipes rang out like the start of a grand-prix race, and all three took a full 2 seconds just to cross the 3-lane intersection! If your car is all pipe and no balls, don't embarass yourself...
