Fairfax co. prices

im moving to virginia in late august, so im selling my car and gettin ga new one in virginia, i think im going to be in fairfax county, or somewhere in the dc area, does anyone live there? im on a 6 grand budget and i don't know what used car prices are like over there. any advice at would be really helpful
