Cartoons VS Anime

What is your take on your favirote?

I side with Anime. The story lines, animation, subject matter, camera shots, sub plots, sound, color, action, romance, whatever far out performs anything Dizzy Corp or anyother american made cartoon can come up with.
Just watch the 2002 Acadamy Award winner for best Animation-Spirted Away and see what real animation is really about.

Toy Story and such by Pixar doesnt count as cartoons/Anime, they are computer drawn, Im talking down in the dirt hand drawn stuff here...

i was into watching Dragonball Z for a while, but then it got boring. i also like Initial D, but mostly just for the cars, as the plots and realism of it are pretty crappy.

Cartoons are for kids, anime is more adult oriented.

I think half of what warner brothers do (bugs daffy and the gang) are geared to the adults more then the kids. I'd say they both have their adult content as well as stuff for the tykes.

Well you dont really pose a real reason why you don't like Anime. So how about a real reason.....

I don't hate cartoon's. I like most of them myself-its just Anime is far superior as an art form.

they all look the same, Pokimon digimon U gi oh>? whats with the names, and all the other ones, they all look like the same person did it, i dont like how the color is, and WTF is iwth calling it anime? is that suppose to be short for animation? to me IMO it looks like SHIT, i like cartoons!

Those aren't real anime shows, those are the stupid kiddie shows which I would call cartoons. Stuff like Hellsing, Berserk, and Samurai X that's real anime, good animation, good plot, adult oriented. Some cartoons are good too, well, mainly Clone High, which is the funniest show I have seen in a very long time, I'm not a big fan of the style of animation though, looks like some 5 year old drew it.

You need to get past the crap they throw on the networks here in the states. Pokemon is NOT a good represntation of Japanese Animation or ANIME.
Check out Spirted Away at Blockbusters and keep an open mind and see the art work and feel the story. That movie is all hand drawn-see it for what it is-an art form in itself.
Other titles such as Neon Genisis Evangelion, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, Macross, etc. are a good way to get your feet wet into the real world of Anime.

all of that stuff that u see on wb and whatnot isn't really anime...if u want to watch anime, you can always watch cartoon network like around the middle of the night or you could watch some of the toonami shows, like Yu Yu Hakusho , or Ruroni Kenshin......even G Gundam..just not Dragon Ball Z.....oh and try looking for a short series called Goldenboy they're only 6 episodes, but they're funny as hell....looking for them online is your best bet to watch them.....Mobile Police Patlabor is not just a great manga, but it's a great anime series. you should try lookin for that....if not...macross or even it's cousin robotech...pretty good stuff :D

I watch both but prefer anime; Wangan Midnight would be awesome as an anime series!!!

Cowboy Bebop is awesome... Slayers is awesome... wow I have a lot of animes that I love.. and I love drawing it, too.

And by the way, don't mess with band people. There's more of them than there are of you, and you'll end up with a drumstick somewhere the sun don't shine. :) (Yes.. I was in band.. yes, we took the football team. 235 people vs 40 meatheads.. we won. :devil: )
